Chocolate Hummus
Who loves chocolate hummus? We are big fans over here. Chocolate hummus makes a great healthy dessert or an easy snack option served with your favorite fruit.
Store bought chocolate hummus is delicious too but comes with more sugar than I want and industrial seed oils like canola, sunflower, or soy which we do our best to minimize when we can.
I use cannellini beans in this recipe verse chickpeas which is in traditional hummus because of the texture and taste. Cannellini beans have a softer skin which makes the hummus smoother and a more mild taste than chickpeas. If you don’t have cannellini beans on hand, you can definitely substitute for chickpeas.
This recipe is super easy and a great one to have your kids help make. If your kids aren’t fans of beans yet, like mine, having them help you make it, is a way to expose them to beans in a fun, no pressure environment. After we make the recipe together, we taste test it, and rate it from 1 to 10. This is a fun game to play every time you try a new food as a family. My girls will remind me to play the “Rate-it” game when I forget. They are always keeping me on my toes. Gives this a try and let me know how it goes!
